Mayfly review
The Bees Knees, January 2001

Mayfly coverThe Orchid Pool is basically Tony Paglia and his wife Kimberly with a little help from a few friends here and there. The sound is very light pop with a touch of glee in the eyes of the performers that shines through above the top of all the songs. This is what would happen if the Flying Zucchini Brothers from Mister Rogers Neighborhood were to make a record. As soon as you are having fun, the mood changes to this more solemn sound that can sometimes really be overly sad. Tony picks you up to send you out with a sad tone. The songs might have some more cheerful elements lyrically but the tone is quite sad. Write to Tony to find out how to obtain a copy of this really good cdr debut.
